Located in the charming town of Güímar, Bar Restaurante Parada invites you to experience the heart of Canarian cuisine. Tucked away at Av. de Santa Cruz, 70, 38500 Guimar, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it may not catch your eye from the street, but step inside, and you'll find a world of culinary delights waiting for you.
As a food reviewer deeply rooted in the vibrant gastronomy of Tenerife, I can confidently say that Bar Restaurante Parada is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, characterized by friendly staff who exemplify the island's hospitality. Patrons rave about their experiences here, with one visitor, Sandra Negrín Torres, stating it’s her go-to breakfast spot when she visits, often returning for lunch as well. The quality of the meals, enriched with home-cooked flavor, truly shines through.
One standout dish is the Canarian puchero, known to be the best on the island according to Antonio Ángel Ríos Gonzalez. Served on Thursdays, it is a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic taste of local tradition. The gofio is also highlighted for its exceptional quality, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to using fresh and authentic ingredients.
Marta Ortu aptly noted how the food transcends the unassuming exterior of the restaurant. Diners can indulge in delightful homemade meals that evoke a sense of comfort and familiarity. The daily menu, available at an incredible value of just €15 for a couple, further solidifies its reputation as a reliable dining destination.
For a taste that lingers long after leaving, you must try the almendrados and queso de almendras highlighted by Jaime de la Cruz, who claims they are among the best in La Palma and well worth the trip to Güímar.
Whether you're a local or just visiting this beautiful island, Bar Restaurante Parada combines an authentic dining experience with delightful meals crafted from love and passion. Don't be deterred by its modest appearance; step inside, and prepare to be pleasantly surprised by the explosion of flavors and the kind warmth of its staff.

It doesnt look like a bar or a restaurant from the outside. But we had some food and some drinks as refreshment and the food was actually nice. Thank you !!

This is a classic local bar with wooden paneling and metal stools. People don’t come here for the design, but for the tasty food and the relaxed atmosphere. We went for the set menu: soup, papas con carne, and tea. We also ordered an octopus salad. Everything turned out to be surprisingly delicious — homemade, hearty, and unpretentious. The salad was especially good: fresh vegetables and tender octopus in a light marinade.
